Parole Officer Anthony Demetro Pleads Guilty to Sex Assault
Anthony Demetro, 44, a state parole officer, has admitted to forcing a female parolee to perform oral sex in April 2021. The victim was undergoing residential drug and alcohol treatment as part of her parole conditions when Demetro abused his authority for his own sexual gratification.
Abuse of Power Shocks Justice Officials
Demetro knew the female parolee didn’t consent but coerced her anyway. Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke slammed the attack: “This defendant’s job was to help parolees reenter society… but instead he abused his power and authority to sexually assault a female parolee.”
U.S. Attorney Will Thompson added, “This immoral and illegal conduct will not be tolerated. I commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward.”
