Two-Year-Old Miraculously Survives Harlesden Shooting
A shocking shooting in Harlesden has left a two-year-old boy fighting for his life, sparking outrage and a £20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
Boy’s Narrow Escape from Fatal Bullet
The terrifying incident happened just before 9.45pm on Wednesday, 3 June, at Energen Close, NW10. Police found four people injured by gunfire, including the toddler and his mother.
Doctors revealed the bullet missed the boy’s crucial artery by a mere 1mm — a hair’s breadth from a fatal injury. The mother suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while two teenage men also remain hospitalised with serious injuries. Two other children in the car miraculously escaped unharmed.
Gunman Fired from Moped, Police Say
Detectives believe a man fired a handgun first at one of the teenage men, then shot into the vehicle carrying the boy and his family. The attacker fled the scene on a moped, which police have now released CCTV footage of in a desperate bid to track him down.
“This was an appalling attack that left a little boy fighting for his life. By sheer chance, it did not end in a fatality,” said Detective Chief Inspector Pete Wallis.
“We’re offering a £20,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction. The public’s help is crucial in bringing these criminals to justice.”
Family Plea: Don’t Let a Killer Walk Free
Lillian Serunkuma, grandmother of the toddler, voiced her shock and fear. “This situation has left me perplexed. The person who did this poses a real threat to the community,” she said.
“I urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. This should never happen to any family. The fact that an innocent child was targeted is heartbreaking.”
