St Albans Man Jailed for Orchestrating Sick Child Abuse Live-Streams
Eamon Goodfellow, 50, from St Albans, was slammed with a prison sentence yesterday after being found guilty of trying to sexually exploit children under 13. The vile ringmaster used online facilitators in the Philippines and Romania to carry out his sick plans.
Dark Chat Logs Expose Sickening Plot
Goodfellow was arrested on June 14, 2018, by National Crime Agency officers. All his electronic devices were seized, revealing chilling chat logs. In these messages, he actively searched for young children, instructing facilitators thousands of miles away to perform specific sexual acts on minors for live-streaming.
He paid these facilitators, who were driven by profit, to carry out the abuse on children. The evidence exposed a meticulously planned network exploiting the most vulnerable.
Guilty Verdict and Harsh Sentence
After a six-day trial at St Albans Crown Court, Goodfellow was convicted on two counts of attempting to cause sexual exploitation of children under 13. On April 12, he was sentenced to four years and nine months behind bars.
In addition, he faces a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
National Crime Agency Warns of Growing Threat
“Goodfellow made it very clear in these chat logs that he has sexual interest in young children,” said Martin Ludlow from the NCA.
“He was assisted by facilitators whose motive is to make money. This type of financially motivated crime is a major threat to the United Kingdom.”
The NCA highlighted its close cooperation with international partners, especially agencies in the Philippines like the Internet Crimes Against Children Centre (PICACC), to protect children and disrupt offenders.
Goodfellow’s conviction sends a stark warning that the UK will relentlessly pursue and punish those involved in child exploitation networks worldwide.
