Paedophile Nigel Turner Jailed for 20 Years After Sick Child Abuse Exposed

Turner Busted Sharing Horrific Abuse Videos Online

Nigel Turner, 72, from Morecambe, was arrested in November 2021 by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers. He was caught distributing vile indecent images of children through an online messaging app, using a fake account to hide his identity.

Among the disturbing content, some images showed Turner sexually abusing one of the children himself. When police seized his phone, they uncovered shocking material revealing he had raped and sexually assaulted two children and performed sexual acts in front of them multiple times.

NCA Sniff Out Turner Despite His Attempts to Hide

Although Turner’s face was never visible in the footage, NCA investigators identified him through telltale clues such as clothing, jewellery, and voice recognition. The probe resulted in Turner being charged with a staggering 21 offences:

  • Seven counts of raping a child under 13
  • Three counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13
  • Two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child
  • Twelve counts related to distributing, taking, and making the most severe categories of indecent images of children

Judge Slams Turner with Lengthy Prison Term and Lifetime Orders

Turner pleaded guilty to all charges in December last year. Yesterday, Preston Crown Court sentenced him to 20 years behind bars. He also received a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will remain on the Sex Offenders Register forever.

NCA Vows to Keep Hunting Online Child Abusers

Hazel Stewart, from the National Crime Agency, said: “Turner carried out the most serious sexual abuse on these children. His crimes are truly incomprehensible. After capturing the abuse on his phone, Turner shared it with others online using a fake profile, in an attempt to mask his identity.

“Clearly he thought this would save him, but the NCA has the capabilities to disrupt offenders who use anonymisation techniques. We are focusing those capabilities on catching the most dangerous of criminals.”
