Man Charged After Gas Engineer Attacked with Metal Pole in Warsop

Violent Assault Shakes Sherwood Street

Detectives have charged a suspect following a brutal attack on a gas service engineer in Warsop. The victim was assaulted with a metal pole at around 10.30am on 29 March 2023, on Sherwood Street. During the attack, the engineer’s van was also damaged.

Suspect Nabbed After High-Speed Chase

Police spotted a van driving erratically in Sycamore Street, Warsop, on 6 April at about 7.20pm. The driver failed to stop, sparking a brief pursuit. Officers arrested 22-year-old Connor Weeks of Friar Lane, Warsop. Weeks was found in possession of cannabis at the time of arrest.

Multiple Charges Filed Against Connor Weeks

Connor Weeks appeared at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 8 April charged with:

  • Grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Criminal damage
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Using a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Dangerous driving
  • Possession of cannabis

He was granted conditional bail and is due back at Nottingham Crown Court on 5 May 2023.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Officers have been working hard to investigate this assault which has understandably been an extremely upsetting ordeal for the victim. I am pleased we have charged a suspect and I hope it provides some reassurance to the community.”
