ATM Heist Foiled After Co-op Front Smashed in Broad Daylight
In the early hours of Tuesday, 21 March, trouble struck the Co-op store on Woburn Avenue. At around 12.45am, thugs smashed the shop front and tried — but failed — to steal the store’s ATM.
Suspects Make Quick Getaway but Leave Clues
Police say three or four men used two vehicles during the raid. A Land Rover Discovery sped away with the culprits, while a black Range Rover was abandoned at the scene. Thankfully, nothing appears to have been stolen from inside the store.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
An investigation is underway, with officers combing the scene for clues today. Detectives want to hear from anyone who witnessed the drama or has dash cam footage from Woburn Avenue around the time of the smash-and-grab attempt.
