A group of British holidaymakers suffered a terrifying ordeal when their open-top tour bus crashed in Turkey’s Manavgat district on Thursday. One man was left critically injured, and several others needed urgent medical care.

Crash Chaos: Bus Slams into Coach and Overturns

The ill-fated bus, carrying British and Irish tourists, collided with another coach before veering off the road and flipping over. Eyewitnesses described passengers being violently thrown from their seats amid scenes of mayhem.

Photos from the scene show the battered bus tipped against a utility pole, its front end crushed and safety rails mangled. Witnesses said the crash happened after the tour bus smashed into the rear of the other vehicle, triggering the catastrophic rollover.

No Deaths, But Multiple Injuries

Miraculously, no one died in the crash. However, 11 British tourists, one Irish tourist, and three tour staff were hurt and rushed to hospital. Emergency crews were quick to respond, treating injuries onsite and ferrying the victims to nearby medical facilities.

Investigation Underway, Foreign Office Involved

The bus belongs to the ‘Panter Safari’ company, famous for its Pink Panther-branded tours around Antalya, Turkey. Following the accident, Turkish authorities launched a full investigation. The British Foreign Office confirmed it is assisting injured nationals and liaising with local officials.

This crash is a grim reminder of travel risks and the need for strict safety regulations in the tourist industry. As inquiries continue, both travellers and authorities are left to pick up the pieces from this shocking accident.
