Tragedy in Dagenham: Two Young Boys Found Dead at Home

Emergency services were called to a house on Cornwallis Road, Dagenham, at around 2pm on Friday, December 16. Inside, officers and paramedics discovered the bodies of two young boys, aged two and five. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Post-mortem exams and formal identifications are set to take place shortly.

44-Year-Old Woman Arrested, Man Released

A neighbour reported hearing “loud screaming” earlier that day. Police were called to a disturbance on nearby Maxey Road, where a 44-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the deaths. She remains in custody.

A man also arrested near the scene has now been released without charge. Both children were known to the woman in custody.

Police Launch Serious Investigation

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command have taken over the case. Detective Inspector Sean Treweek said:

“This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions. I want to thank local people for the assistance they have given officers as they begin their inquiries with partner agencies to establish the full circumstances of these two tragic deaths. You will see more officers in the area. Anyone with information or concerns should come forward.”
