Man Charged with Double Murder in Stockwell Stabbing
A man has been charged with murdering a couple found stabbed to death in their Stockwell home.
Daniel Briceno-Garcia in Court After Fatal Attack
Daniel Briceno-Garcia, 44, of Dorset Road, SW8, was arrested and charged on Thursday, 2 April with two counts of murder. He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court the following day and has been remanded in custody. His next hearing is set for Friday, 3 June.
Police Find Couple Dead at Dorset Road Home
Police were called to a Dorset Road address at around 4pm on Wednesday, 1 April. Inside, officers discovered a man and woman with fatal stab wounds. Both were declared dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as married couple Sonia Teresa Burton Calvi, 56, and Edgar Aguilera Daza, 59.
Multiple Arrests Made, Investigation Ongoing
Six people—five men and one woman—were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Aside from Briceno-Garcia, the others were released on bail pending further inquiry. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command are now leading the investigation.
