Predator Busted with Over 1,200 Child Abuse Images in Huge Police Raid
Jon Gordon, 43, was snapped in a police swoop after officers from the Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) stormed his Witham home in December 2018.
Horrific Discovery on His Devices
The raid followed intelligence that he was chatting sexually with someone he thought was a 13-year-old. Cops arrested him and seized 33 items, uncovering more than 1,200 indecent images and videos of child abuse across five devices.
Alongside this, officers found an eye-watering 6,500 Skype conversations with 900 young contacts. Evidence showed Jon groomed boys and girls under 18.
Facing 45 Child Sex Charges
Gordon was hit with 45 offences, including sexual communication with a child, inciting children to perform sexual acts, and possessing indecent images of children.
He owned up at Chelmsford Crown Court on 24 February and, on 13 April, was sentenced to eight years behind bars.
Cop: ‘Essex is Safer with Him Locked Up’
Detective Sergeant Samantha Lewin from POLIT blasted Gordon as a “dangerous sexual predator” who preyed on underage boys and girls.
“The sheer scale of his offending, shown by the huge collection of abuse images and the number of charges, is staggering,” she said.
“I have no doubt Essex is safer now he’s behind bars.”
