Daesh Supporter Jailed for Spreading Terror Material Online
Wissam Tariq Mahmoud Ziad, 20, from Central Avenue, has been locked up after admitting eight terrorism charges. The Manchester Crown Court sentenced him on Thursday 9 December 2021 for possessing and sharing extremist content linked to Daesh.

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) said Ziad’s stash of extremist material was “capable of encouraging terrorism.” He used social media and encrypted chat groups worldwide, hiding behind VPNs to mask his identity.
‘Dangerous Man’ Behind Bars
“Ziad incited support and pushed others to research extremist organisations. He positioned himself as a religious authority. He is a dangerous man with extremist views and is quite rightly behind bars,” said Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Meeks of CTPNW.
His online activity helped spread Daesh propaganda and dangerously encouraged others to follow extremist paths.
