Gun and Drugs Raid in Hastings Leads to Arrest
A man has been arrested and charged after a dawn police crackdown in Hastings uncovered firearms and drugs.
Early Morning Armed Raids
Just after 5am on Friday, armed officers backed local detectives in intelligence-led raids at two Hastings addresses on Grove Road and Harkness Drive.
The operation was peaceful with no violence or shots fired.
Suspect Charged and Remanded
Joshua Sawyer, 29, unemployed and from Grove Road, appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court on Saturday.
- Charged with possession of an imitation firearm (a replica shotgun) as a prohibited person
- Intent to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of shotgun ammunition
- Possession of cocaine with intent to supply
Sawyer was remanded in custody and will next face Lewes Crown Court on 15 May.
