Month After Student Nurse Vanishes, Police Urgently Seek Clues
Last Seen in West Croydon
It’s been a month since student nurse Owami Davies was last spotted. The 21-year-old was seen walking along Derby Road, West Croydon, in the early hours of Thursday, July 7. Later that morning, at around 7am, an unconfirmed sighting was reported on nearby Clarendon Road.
Owami had left her family home in Grays, Essex, just days earlier on Monday, July 4.
Massive Police Operation Underway
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is leading a major probe into her disappearance. So far, five arrests have been made: two on suspicion of murder and three on suspicion of kidnapping. Most recently, a 27-year-old man was arrested on August 6 for kidnapping suspicion. Four of those detained have since been released on bail.
Detectives Plead for Public Help
“This is a complex ongoing investigation involving a significant number of officers,” said Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney. “As we continue to search for Owami, we are working tirelessly to pursue every line of inquiry, including extensive CCTV trawls.”
“It’s been a month since the last confirmed sighting of her. I can’t imagine how difficult that time was for her family. We will continue to assist them in any way we can. I am grateful for the public’s assistance thus far, but I must again appeal to anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they believe it may be, to contact us.”
