Drug Dealer Banned from Holbeck in Leeds

Jordan Bingham, 32, with no fixed address, has been slapped with a court injunction banning him from Holbeck, Leeds. The order forbids him from entering or lingering in the area and runs until July 13, 2023. Ignore it, and he faces jail for contempt of court.

Crackdown on ‘Cuckooing’ and Trap Houses

The Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team and Anti-Social Behaviour Team joined forces to tackle a rising drug problem, focusing on organised criminals exploiting vulnerable people. Drug dealers have been taking over victims’ homes in a practice called ‘cuckooing’ to sell heroin and crack cocaine. They also run 24/7 ‘trap houses,’ terrorising residents with violence and intimidation.

Police and Council Join Forces

“Getting Jordan Bingham banned from the Holbeck area through this injunction is a significant positive step in our work to reduce the harm that organised supply of Class A drugs causes,” said Inspector Tom Perry of Leeds South NPT.

“The community has a key role to play by reporting sightings immediately. This innovative legal move is part of our wider crackdown on street-level drug dealing, crime, and antisocial behaviour.”

Inspector Perry added that recent raids on trap houses led to arrests and drug seizures. The police are working closely with council teams and other agencies to protect those exploited by dealers.

Deputy Leeds City Council leader Debra Coupar said: “This injunction is the result of months of partnership work. Anyone committing crimes that harm our communities can expect the full force of the law.”

Community Urged to Stay Vigilant

  • Bingham banned from Holbeck until July 13, 2023
  • Faces jail if he breaks exclusion zone
  • Police targeting drug dealers using ‘cuckooing’ and trap houses

This bold legal action marks a crucial step in cleaning up Holbeck’s streets and protecting its vulnerable residents from ruthless drug criminals.
