A 19-year-old from Dartford was arrested during an EFL Cup clash against Exeter City on August 23, 2022, after complaints flooded in to Kent Police.
He was released on bail but now faces Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on April 17, 2023, via a postal summons.
Multiple Charges Hit Young Football Fan
The teenager faces two public order offences. He’s also charged with being drunk at a sports ground during the match and breaching a Football Banning Order.
Another man arrested alongside him will face no further action.
Kent Police Crack Down on Football Disorder
“Kent Police has a strong working relationship with football clubs throughout the county and we support them in their efforts to eradicate abuse of all kinds from the sport,” said Superintendent Elena Hall.
“We encourage anyone who hears or sees inappropriate behaviour at any sporting event to report it to a steward or police officer at the earliest opportunity so action can be taken against those responsible.”
