Man Arrested After Woman Assaulted and Animal Abuse Charges in Colchester
Police swooped on Baronswood Way on Saturday 10 October after reports of a woman being assaulted. Cameron Burgess, 30, from Clearwater, Colchester, was quickly arrested.
Serious Charges Laid
- Burgess faces two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal
- Assaulting an emergency worker
- Three counts of assault by beating
- Threatening to damage or destroy property
Burgess Denies All Charges
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday 12 October and denied all charges. His trial is set for 19 March at 1 Magistrates’ Court.
