Stolen Car Chase Ends in Chaos on A2 Watling Street

A stolen car tear-up on the London-bound A2 Watling Street brought traffic to a halt just after 2.30pm on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024. The driver tried to escape police near the Wrotham Road junction but was forced to stop after causing chaos on the road.

Damaged Cars and Closed Roads

As the suspect sped through traffic, several vehicles were damaged. Authorities shut the carriageway to control the scene and clear the wreckage, disrupting travel in the area.

Three Arrested After Dangerous Pursuit

Police arrested three men at the scene. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. Only one has been charged: 22-year-old Kieron Gallagher from Thamesmead faces multiple counts including handling stolen goods, dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, and driving while disqualified.

Gallagher is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 3. The other two men were released without charge.
