Drug Dealer Busted in Peterborough Sting
Police crashed Callum Horsley’s pad in Benland, Bretton, in May 2021 during a major crackdown dubbed Operation Spotlight. The 27-year-old wasn’t there at first, but when he turned up, officers swooped, seizing a stash of cocaine and cannabis worth a whopping £20,000.
Guilty Plea Lands Horsley Behind Bars
Horsley, from Gedney Hill, Spalding, Lincolnshire, admitted to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and producing Class B. On Wednesday (12 April), he was slammed with a three-year prison sentence at Peterborough Crown Court.
Operation Spotlight: Fighting Drugs, Protecting Communities
Launched in 2019 by the Safer Peterborough Partnership, Operation Spotlight aims to smash drug crime and its devastating effects on local communities. The bust was part of the second phase of this ongoing campaign. The seventh crack-down week kicks off next Monday (24 April) right across Peterborough.
Police Call for Community Help
“This was some great proactive work as part of Op Spotlight. Drugs cause a huge amount of harm to communities so we will not let up in our campaign to target these criminals and disrupt their trade,” said Sergeant Jess Didio, who led the investigation.
“Much of our work relies on intelligence from officers and local people. If you have any info on drug dealing, please report it via our website.”
