Bournemouth Man Sentenced for Brutal New Year’s Eve Robbery

Zachariah Paul Attley, 31, from Bournemouth, was locked up at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday 25 October 2022 for a savage robbery.

Friends Turned Attacker on Night Out

On the early hours of Sunday 2 January 2022, Attley and a man in his 40s met during a night out on Charminster Road. The pair drank together at Havana Bar before heading towards the Golden Supermarket at around 2.15am.

Violent Punch and Wallet Theft

Outside the shop, Attley suddenly punched the victim in the mouth, knocking out his teeth. He then stole the man’s wallet containing £50 cash and bank cards. The victim needed urgent dental care.

Dorset Police arrested Attley around 2.50am shortly after the attack.

Police React to Shocking Assault

“Attley befriended the victim and socialised with him for hours before unprovoked assault and theft,” said Detective Constable Liam Moss.

“This left the victim shaken. I’m glad Attley has been held to account. We take street violence in Dorset very seriously.”
