Man, 70, Stabbed to Death on Peaceful Walk

Richard Hall, 70, from Perton, Staffordshire, was enjoying a walk on Brown Clee Hill on Thursday, 13 August, when he was brutally stabbed. His body was discovered the following day, Friday 14 August, after he died from his injuries.

Killer Sentenced to 28 Years for Murder

Moses Christensen, 21, from Oldswinford, Stourbridge, was today (Thursday 8 April) handed a 28-year prison sentence for Richard’s murder. He also received 28 months concurrent for knife possession after being found guilty by a jury.

“Christensen is a dangerous individual who will now serve a considerable sentence in prison where he cannot cause further harm to the wider public,” said DCI Mark Bellamy of West Mercia Police’s Major Investigation Unit. “Richard Hall’s family have understandably been left shattered. He was simply taking a walk when he was tragically killed in a senseless attack. My thoughts and condolences remain with them.”

Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute

Richard’s family described him as a “brilliant man in every way” – a devoted husband, father, and grandad. They said:

“Richard was 70 years young, with so much to live for. His life was taken in a brutal and senseless act of pure evil. It beggars belief this could happen during a peaceful summer evening walk in such a beautiful, remote spot.

“We have been left shattered and will never truly comprehend what happened. No sentence will ever give us complete justice. Richard was loved, admired, and respected by many. His memory will never fade.”
