Predator Petroy Martin Locked Up for Over Five Years
Petroy Martin, 23, from Doddington Grove, SE17, has been sentenced to five years and six months behind bars. The Inner London Crown Court handed down the sentence on Friday, 14 April, along with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Ruthless Attack After Night Out
Detectives from Central South CID launched a probe after a woman bravely came forward, reporting she was raped following a night out on Sunday, 22 May 2022. Using social media clues, officers tracked down Martin and arrested him at his home on Tuesday, 14 June.
Victim’s Courage Exposed Martin’s Crimes
The victim received specialist support from a Sexual Offences Investigation Trained officer (SOIT) throughout the case. Detective Constable Jamie Smith, who led the investigation, slammed Martin as a “dangerous predator.”
“Martin showed no remorse for his ‘vile and bestial’ behaviour. We’re glad he’s off the streets,” said DC Smith. “The victim’s courage in coming forward and giving evidence prevented further crimes. We urge anyone else affected by Martin to step up. No detail is too small – you will be listened to and supported.”
