Whitby Man Jailed for Brutal Assault on Young Woman
Jack Taylor, 29, from Whitby, has been locked up for two years and eight months after a savage attack on a woman in her twenties. On top of the jail time, he’s slapped with a five-year Restraining Order banning him from contacting key witnesses.
Drunken Rage Ends in Violent Attack
The horror unfolded in September 2020, inside a flat above a local pub. Taylor, heavily intoxicated, smashed the victim’s phone before launching a vicious, prolonged assault. The woman was left with a fractured hand and had to seek hospital treatment.
Justice Served: Taylor Pleads Guilty
Taylor admitted his guilt at court. Detective Constable Ruth Freebrey of North Yorkshire Police, who led the investigation, slammed him as “a violent individual who acted on his anger in a physical way towards a woman who struggled to defend herself.”
“Today’s result shows that we take all reports of this nature seriously. We will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice which will then make our communities safer for everyone.”
