Man Arrested After Early Morning Kidnap Attempt in Worksop

Police rushed to Carlton Road, Worksop, just after 4.40am on Friday 3 February after a woman flagged down a car, claiming a man tried to kidnap and attack her.

Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest

Swift enquiries led officers straight to the suspect, Craig Grant, who was arrested soon after the incident.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, suffered cuts and grazes on her arms and legs but escaped serious harm.

Craig Grant Charged With Multiple Offences

Craig Grant, 45, from Lancaster Gardens, Worksop, faces charges including threats to kill, kidnap, actual bodily harm, and strangulation. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 February.

Police Praise Investigation Efforts

Detective Constable Karam Kaur from Nottinghamshire Police said: “These are very serious offences, and our investigation remains ongoing but I am pleased we have now been able to bring a charge in this case.”

“Officers from West Bridgford’s Criminal Investigation Department have worked tirelessly since Friday to uncover the facts and support the victim, who thankfully was not seriously injured.”
