Horror in Hove: Machete Attack During Late-Night Shop Robbery
Police are hunting witnesses after a gruesome machete attack during a botched robbery in Hove. A man was left seriously injured after refusing to hand over cash.
Late-Night Loot Attempt Ends in Violence
At around 10.30pm on Saturday, 19 September, a man barged into The Drive Store on Church Road. He demanded cash but was refused. The suspect then pulled out a machete and slashed one of the shop’s occupants, causing a serious hand injury.
Suspect Flees Empty-Handed
The attacker fled on foot, heading north up The Drive, escaping without any loot. Police describe him as a Middle Eastern male, aged between 21 and 27, clad entirely in black with a hood pulled up.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
There was heavy foot traffic nearby at the time of the attack. Police want anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has dash cam or CCTV footage, to come forward immediately.
