Burtle Burglar Joshua Heal Jailed for Stealing Car and Burning It Out
Joshua Heal, 21, from Burtle, was handed a 16-month prison sentence on Thursday, 12 November. He played a key role in a shocking burglary in Wells during the night of 14/15 July, while the elderly victims were asleep.
Heal snatched a handbag and car keys before making off in the victims’ car – which he later torched and destroyed.
More Crimes Caught Up With Him
As if that wasn’t enough, Heal also got eight weeks added to his sentence for another burglary at the Fondo Lounge in Street on 6 August, committed while he was still out on bail.
Two more offences were noted during sentencing: a dwelling burglary and vehicle theft, both from Street back in February.
Operation Remedy Cracks Down on Burglaries
“A great deal of effort has gone into investigating these offences and bringing together evidence for trial, which has helped bring about justice for Heal’s vulnerable victims,” said Operation Remedy officer Jim Card.
Operation Remedy is a tough Avon and Somerset police initiative targeting residential burglaries, knife crime, and drug supply offences.
