Catfish Sting Exposed Malone’s Twisted Intentions
Between April 8 and 14 this year, Malone contacted decoy children online, unknowingly talking to officers posing as minors. He engaged in explicit sexual chats, believing he was speaking to underage kids. Police swooped on him after he was reported and arrested on April 14, with charges following the next day.
“Malone contacted these decoy children with the intent of engaging in sexual activity with them,”
Detective Sergeant Steven Morris from Banbury CID said.
“Even though the people he tried to contact were not children, Malone’s intentions were clear.”
Thames Valley Police Clamp Down on Sexual Predators
Thames Valley Police made clear they take these crimes seriously. They plan to apply for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to restrict Malone’s behaviour once he is released.
“We will seek a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to ensure Malone is prevented from similar behaviour in the future,”
a spokesman said.
“We hope Malone uses his prison time to reflect and take up any rehabilitation offered.”
