Paedophile Hunter Snags Pervert Trying to Groom 12-Year-Old on Dating App
Cameron Davidson Busted in Undercover Sting
Cameron Davidson, 20, was caught red-handed after trying to chat up a “12-year-old” on dating app Badoo. But the sweet kid was actually an Alpha Predator Hunters decoy using a photo of a woman altered with a Snapchat filter to look like a child.
Davidson slid into the profile’s messages, claiming he was 19. The decoy replied: “How old are you? I’m 12 and shouldn’t be on here.” His response? A string of explicit messages asking the “child” to engage in sex. The court heard Davidson even sent pictures of his penis twice, and demanded nude shots in return.
Meeting Arranged – Then Call-Off
The pair agreed to meet at Barry railway station on August 21 last year – but Davidson bailed, saying he was too busy at work. The decoy, armed with a snap of Davidson in his work uniform, tracked down his workplace in Barry.
Members of the paedophile hunters confronted Davidson in the street. When police arrived, he claimed he thought the “12-year-old” was actually 18. They weren’t buying it.
Horrifying Phone Secrets Revealed
Police seized Davidson’s black Samsung phone, uncovering a trove of disturbing images:
- 2 category A indecent images
- 4 category B images
- 7 category C images
- 9 extreme pornographic images
In police interviews, Davidson admitted the decoy said she was 12 but insisted he “thought she was messing around.” He also claimed a “high sex drive” and asked for treatment but denied being attracted to children.
Judge Delivers Harsh Warning and Sentencing
Davidson, from Farnborough, Hampshire, pleaded guilty to attempting to communicate with a child, attempting sexual activity with a child, and possession of indecent and extreme images.
Recorder Greg Bull QC told him: “Sexual offences are always serious and the offences you have committed are likely to have a heavy impact on your life. Having sexual contact with a child is something that the courts abhor, as does society.”
Davidson was sentenced to 21 months in prison, suspended for two years. He must also complete 55 days of rehabilitation and 200 hours of unpaid work. Plus, he faces a sexual harm prevention order and has to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
