Mad Axe Attack in Nottingham City Centre
Chaos erupted in Nottingham’s Old Market Square when 42-year-old Sirban Farj suddenly turned violent, attacking a man after a bizarre encounter involving a dog.
Petting Dog Turns Deadly
Farj initially approached the victim to pet his dog. But when the man tried to take the dog back, Farj snapped. In a wild rage, he stripped off some of his clothes, started shouting and singing, and danced around the square.
Axe Wielding Rampage
Without warning, Farj ran at the man, swinging an axe wildly above his head. He struck the victim in the back before smashing the man’s fallen phone into pieces with the weapon. Police quickly arrived, and Farj, who has no fixed address, threw the axe down and lay face-first on the ground.
