Dangerous Drug Dealer Jailed for High-Speed Police Chase Through London

Ali Hussain, 32, from Westminster, has been locked up for over five years after a shocking police chase that saw him racing through London streets at breakneck speeds in a stolen Mercedes. The court sentenced him to five years and two months at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, 12 October. Hussain pleaded guilty to a string of serious offences, including possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, dangerous driving, and failing to surrender to custody.

High-Octane Escape Turns London Streets into Danger Zone

On 3 June at about 5.50pm, ANPR cameras flagged a stolen Mercedes AMG in Hammersmith. The car had a history of dodging the cops and rolling with fake plates. By 6.48pm, officers from Operation Venice spotted it stalled at a red light in Holland Park.

As police attempted a reinforced stop, Hussain slammed the accelerator, smashing through red lights and mounting pavements, racing at over 80mph in a 30mph zone. He even drove the wrong way around a roundabout, showing blatant disregard for public safety.

Skilled Police Tactics Bring Chase to Safe End

Specially trained Met officers managed a tactical contact to safely end the chase with no injuries. Hussain was hauled out and arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop. Inside the Mercedes, officers found Class A and B drugs, leading to further possession with intent to supply charges.

It emerged Hussain had been a wanted man for five years after failing to appear in court over a 2015 dangerous driving incident that caused serious injury.

Met Police Praise Officers for Swift Action

“Hussain clearly showed how little he values the lives of others, and himself, when he cut through red lights, mounted the pavement and cut across a roundabout on the wrong side of the road,” said PC Stuart MacPherson from Operation Venice.

“His excessive speeding put countless people in danger for no reason.”

Sergeant Tony McGovern added, “Our team are specially trained to use tactical contact to bring pursuits to a safe end. I’m proud they were able to stop this vehicle and secure a lengthy sentence for such dangerous behaviour.”
