Pub Brawl Ends in Shocking Car Attack

Bradley Knapp sparked chaos after a pub punch-up erupted onto the street. The 27-year-old jumped into a Ford Fiesta and sped towards a crowd, missing his target but hitting two innocent bystanders before fleeing the UK.

Fury on the Dancefloor

The nightmare began at The Clipper pub on 11 October 2019 around 11.30pm, when Knapp clashed with another man on the dancefloor. Security threw both out through separate exits, but Knapp wasn’t done yet.

He got into a blue Ford Fiesta nearby, returned to the pub with a friend, and launched another assault on the same man. The melee quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl.

Car Rampage Leaves Two Hurt

As punches flew, Knapp bolted back to the driver’s seat and ploughed the car into a group outside the pub. Two innocent men were hit:

  • A man in his 20s suffered a fractured shoulder and wrist, plus facial and body bruising.
  • A man in his 40s was left with bruises all over.

Knapp’s rampage ended when the car crashed into a parked vehicle. He abandoned the wreck and ran off.

On The Run to Spain – Then Caught

CCTV and DNA on a shopping bag confirmed Knapp as the driver. Police launched a manhunt and discovered he’d fled to mainland Europe via ferry from Dover, helped by an associate who provided a fake passport.

Spanish police caught Knapp in Tenerife in September 2020. He was extradited back to the UK and charged. His accomplice was jailed for over two years for helping him evade capture, plus unrelated drug offences.

Justice Served for Senseless Violence

“Knapp committed a senseless and excessive act of violence that could have easily had fatal consequences,” said Detective Constable Mike Rake.

“Whatever provocation he may have felt, there’s no excuse for such force — which injured two innocent people. His violent actions and attempt to escape justice show he’s exceptionally dangerous. I’m glad he’s now faced the law.”

Knapp was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving causing serious injury, and perverting the course of justice. Sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court, he faces more time inside plus a two-year extended licence on release.
