Man in 20s dies after shooting in Mitcham at 2.25am

Early morning tragedy on Croydon Road

Police rushed to Croydon Road near Beddington Lane, Mitcham, at around 2.25am on Tuesday, 4 April, after reports of an injured man. Emergency crews from the London Ambulance Service found the victim, believed to be in his 20s, and rushed him to hospital.

Gunshot wound suspected, investigation underway

Despite efforts to save him, the man died shortly after arriving at hospital. Officers believe he suffered a gunshot injury. A crime scene remains in place as homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command take over the investigation.

Police appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage

Detectives want to hear from anyone in the Croydon Road and Beddington Lane area on the night of 4 April who noticed anything suspicious.
