Paedophile Paul Thompson Faces More Jail After Breaching Sexual Harm Order
Paul Thompson, 27, is back in the dock after admitting to breaking a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) while living in Pitsea. The Plumleys man was first jailed in January 2018 for possessing horrific indecent images of children as young as seven.
Disturbing Past Crimes
Police discovered the vile images during a 2017 visit to Thompson’s former Witham home. Forensic experts found 245 indecent pictures, including 28 category A shots – the most serious – plus 18 images of extreme pornography.
Thompson served 15 months in jail and was slapped with an eight-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to keep him in check.
Breach of Order Lands Him Back in Court
Yet, on April 3 last year, Thompson was caught breaching this very order at his Basildon address. The specifics weren’t revealed during a recent hearing at Basildon Crown Court.
Thompson kept a stony face as the judge adjourned sentencing until late September, pending a pre-sentence report.
Judge Warns of Imprisonment
“I’m going to adjourn this case to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared. It poses an immediate risk of custody,” Recorder Paul Keleher QC told Thompson.
Thompson, now out on bail, faces a strong chance of a lengthy prison sentence when he returns to court the week of September 21.
