Brutal Home Invasion Ends in Jail for Northampton Thugs
Juliano Racca, 31, and Ricky Randall, 29, thought they were in for a quiet drink after meeting a man online. Instead, they arrived at his Northampton home on the night of October 27 last year with one plan: to rob him.
Beaten, Tortured and Bound: Victim’s Nightmare
The victim was handcuffed and relentlessly beaten over several hours. Racca used a knuckleduster to punch him and sprayed him with a fire extinguisher. The pair forced him to hand over safe access codes and bank cards. They then tied him up, drenched his home in bleach, and made off with £2,500 cash, bank cards, a mobile phone, Apple devices, and a CCTV camera.
SOS Alert Leads to Arrest
Thankfully, the victim managed to activate an SOS alert on his stolen phone. Police tracked the signal, freeing him and snapping up the culprits. Both Racca and Randall admitted guilt before Northampton Crown Court on June 17.
Long Stints Behind Bars for Both
- Racca, from Nursery Lane, also faced charges from a 2020 pub incident. He was handed seven years and four months for robbery, threats, dangerous driving, and criminal damage.
- Randall, of Whiston Road, was sentenced to six years and four months for robbery.
Detective Sergeant Alex Lowe said: “Racca and Randall carried out a cowardly assault on a man in his own home, where he had every right to feel safe. The violence was terrifying, and the victim still struggles to trust people. These sentences send a clear message that justice has been done.”
