Teenager Pleads Guilty to Attempted Arson at Cenotaph Protest

Astrophel Sang, 19, from Ravenhurst Street, Birmingham, admitted to attempted arson at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 4 November.

The shocking incident took place during a demonstration at the Cenotaph, Westminster, on Sunday 7 June.

Sang’s actions put the iconic Cenotaph in danger during what was meant to be a peaceful protest.

Next Stop: Southwark Crown Court

He is set to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
