A deadly fire tore through a flat on Ham Close late Saturday night, killing one person.
Emergency Teams Rush to Scene
Firefighters were alerted just before 10pm after a neighbour heard a smoke alarm going off inside the property. Four fire engines and around 30 firefighters and officers raced to Field House to battle the blaze.
Fatal Discovery Inside the Flames
When crews forced entry, they found a person dead inside the burning flat. The tragedy has shocked residents and nearby locals were urged to stay clear during the emergency response.
Police Launch Investigation
The Met Police have begun inquiries into what caused the fire. Officers are currently trying to identify and contact the victim’s next of kin as the probe continues.
