British Personal Trainer Shot Dead in Jamaica
Sean Patterson, a 33-year-old personal trainer from west London, was found fatally shot in St James, Jamaica, on Monday. Police say he suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body and head.
Gunfire Heard Near Villa Pool
Witnesses reported hearing “loud explosions” around 11:45 a.m. local time (4:45 p.m. UK time). Mr Patterson was on the pool deck of a villa in Bogue Hill when a man armed with a gun approached him.
Emergency Response and Investigation Underway
Officers from Montego Bay Police Department arrived after reports of the shooting near the guest house’s pool. Mr Patterson was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead.
British Foreign Office Responds
A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Jamaica and are in contact with local authorities.”
Suspect Arrested
Local media reports a 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Investigations are ongoing.
