Woman Attacked and Robbed in Jubilee Square
Shock in Jubilee Square as a woman in her 50s was assaulted around 5.45pm on Tuesday, 13 October 2020. The victim was knocked to the ground and had her shopping bags stolen, including cash and her mobile phone.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
One of the town’s PCSOs reviewed CCTV footage from Jubilee Square and identified a suspect. The very next day, 46-year-old Vanessa Hamilton was arrested at her maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone home on Farleigh Lane.
Drugs Found at Arrest
Officers also discovered a small amount of crack cocaine during the arrest. Ms Hamilton now faces charges of robbery and possession of a Class A drug.
Charged and Remanded
Vanessa Hamilton was remanded in custody and is set to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 15 October.
