Met Police Officer Sacked Over Drug Scandal
On Tuesday, 1 November, PC Rasvinder Agalliu from the Central West Command Unit was booted from the force for serious misconduct. The panel ruled he breached professional standards including honesty, integrity, and obeying orders.
Drugs, Cash and Police Gear Seized in Raids
Back on 25 June 2020, officers raided PC Agalliu’s home and found a stash of Class A drugs, drug paraphernalia, a large haul of cash, and even a Metropolitan Police radio. Another sweep on 25 October at a former address uncovered cannabis plants, body armour, handcuffs, uniform items, and case files tied to an ongoing investigation.
Arrested but Not Prosecuted, Still Dismissed
Agalliu was arrested over suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Though the Crown Prosecution Service decided there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him criminally, the disciplinary panel didn’t hesitate to dismiss him without notice.
Zero Tolerance for Rotten Cops
Chief Superintendent Owain Richards blasted: “This officer’s actions were a gross breach of the trust afforded to them by the public. PC Agalliu has quite rightly been dismissed. There is no place in the Met for officers who behave in this way.”
“We are determined to weed out anyone who fails our standards and make sure they never work in law enforcement again.”
PC Agalliu will be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, banning him from working for any police force, oversight body, or fire and rescue service in the UK ever again.
