Stephen Palmer, 40, of Swan Lane, was arrested on Friday, March 31, 2023, following a major police crack-down linked to the illegal EncroChat phone network.
International law enforcement agencies cracked EncroChat back in 2020, exposing a web of crime. Palmer’s name soon popped up.
Arrested for Soliciting Murder and Illegal Firearms
Palmer is now charged with soliciting to murder an unknown individual. Authorities also accuse him of possessing and selling a handgun and a machine gun.
Drug Supply Allegations
But that’s not all. Police allege Palmer was involved in supplying cocaine and ketamine, adding drug offences to his mounting list of charges.
Remanded and Awaiting Trial
Medway magistrates remanded Palmer in custody on Saturday, April 1. He is due to appear next at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, May 1.
