Burglary Beast Busted After High-Speed Chase and Jewellery Heist
Shaquille Campbell’s Raid in Dunton Green
Shaquille Campbell smashed into a home on Breething Road, Dunton Green, on November 14, 2022, while the owners were away. He left the place trashed, ripping off jewellery, cash, and designer clothes.
High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Arrest
The very next day, Campbell was spotted behind the wheel of a BMW on Wested Lane, Crockenhill. When a patrol officer signalled him to stop, Campbell floored it instead, tearing down the wrong side of the road and smashing into another car. Police arrested him on the spot and found he was wearing stolen trainers from the Dunton Green burglary.
More Burglaries Across Surrey, Hertfordshire and London
Campbell’s crime spree didn’t stop there. Detectives tied him to burglaries and a robbery spanning Cheam in Surrey, Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire, and Twickenham, London between September 21 and November 5. His loot from the Rickmansworth break-in was later recovered from a pawn shop in Shepherd’s Bush.
Seven Years Behind Bars for Crime Spree
Campbell, 26, formerly from Ilford, Essex, pleaded guilty to three burglaries, one robbery, theft, and dangerous driving at Maidstone Crown Court. On January 17, 2023, he was slammed with a hefty 7 years and 8 months inside. He’ll also face an 18-month driving ban after release and must pass a re-test before hitting the road again.
“Campbell is a prolific criminal who stole high-value cars and designer clothing during burglaries, turning violent when disturbed by some of his victims. His reckless driving while attempting to elude arrest put other road users in grave danger, and he deserves to be imprisoned,” said DC Celia King.
