Pervert Jailed for Grooming 15-Year-Old on Social Media
Jake Crawley’s Sick Online Crimes Exposed
Jake Crawley from Granville Road preyed on a 15-year-old on social media, bombarding the child with obscene messages. Between November and December 2022, he sent inappropriate gifts including money and a bottle of alcohol, fully aware the victim was underage.
Kent Police Crack Down with Search and Arrest
Kent Police were alerted on 28 December 2022. Officers quickly moved, raiding Crawley’s home on 4 January 2023. They seized a mobile phone loaded with photos, videos, and chat logs proving his vile exploitation. Packaging for the illicit gifts was also recovered.
Five Years Behind Bars and Life on Sex Offenders Register
Crawley, 26, was arrested and charged with multiple serious sexual offences. At Maidstone Crown Court on 14 July 2023, he pleaded guilty to all counts. The judge sentenced him to five years in prison and slapped on a 10-year sexual harm prevention order. He’s now on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Condemns Crawley’s Cruelty
“Crawley instigated obscene conversations with the victim for his own sexual gratification, all the while knowing they were underage,” said Detective Constable Mel Ling. “He took complete advantage of the child, showing no regard for their wellbeing.”
“His actions will leave a lasting scar on the victim. I hope his jail term offers some comfort to the child and their family. Kent Police remain committed to hunting down anyone who abuses children and ensuring justice is served.”
