£90k Cocaine Bust Near Dartford Crossing
Nearly a kilo of cocaine worth up to £90,000 was found in a shopping bag after police stopped a suspicious Fiat 500 near the Dartford Crossing.
Car Stop Leads to Major Drug Haul
The Fiat was acting dodgy on the evening of Friday 17 April 2020. Officers stopped the car at 5.45pm as it neared the crossing from Kent. A search revealed a plastic shopping bag stuffed with 900 grams of white powder – confirmed as cocaine.
Cash and Phones Seized in Follow-Up Raid
The driver’s home was raided soon after, uncovering £12,500 in cash and several mobile phones. Police believe the haul was tied to serious drug supply operations.
Man Charged and Remanded
Marian Dinca, 26, from Ambleside Drive, Leicester, was arrested and investigated by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
He faced Medway Magistrates’ Court on 20 April charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, involvement in drug supply, and handling criminal property.
Dinca pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing. The case highlights ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking in the region.
