Baseball Bat Blows: Killer Hits Man Outside Southampton Pub
Lewis Kerby, 27, from Bursledon, was sentenced to 32 months behind bars for a brutal attack outside the Robin Hood pub in Southampton. The terrifying incident on August 19 saw Kerby smash a man over the head with a baseball bat following a drunken row inside the pub.
Night Out Turns Violent
The late-night argument in South East Road spilled onto the street just after midnight. The victim, a man in his 30s, stepped in to help his brother — only to be savagely struck by Kerby.
He was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull.

Police Crack Down on Pub Violence
Detective Constable Hayley Channell, who led the probe, said: “This was a serious incident witnessed by many people where the victim was brutally assaulted.”
She added: “One of our priorities in Southampton is keeping people safe in and around our pubs, bars and clubs. Our licensing team works closely with door staff, venues, and city council partners to prevent incidents like this.”
