Predator Caught After Talking to Undercover Cop
Darran Faith, 43, thought he was chatting with a child online. What he didn’t know? It was an undercover officer from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU) trapping him in his sick game.
Damning Evidence Found at Sunderland Home
During the investigation, police seized multiple devices from Faith’s Sunderland home, including his laptop. The digital haul revealed numerous indecent images of children, adding weight to the case against him.
Strong Police Work Seals Faith’s Fate
Northumbria Police worked relentlessly to gather a mountain of evidence. Faith faced charges of attempting sexual communication with a child and making indecent images of children. On October 27, he pleaded guilty at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Sentence: Suspended Jail and Long-Term Restrictions
Yesterday at Newcastle Crown Court, Faith was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. On top of that, he must complete 35 days of rehabilitation, comply with a 10-year sex offender notification, and abide by a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
