Man suffers serious head injury in pub garden brawl on Seabrook Road

Late-night pub row turns violent

At around 11.20pm on Friday 27 May 2022, chaos erupted in the garden of a pub on Seabrook Road. A man was punched in the face during an altercation, landing him with a serious head injury.

Victim airlifted to London hospital

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and airlifted the victim to a London hospital. He remains in a serious condition as medics continue treatment.

Suspect nabbed and charged within the hour

Kent Police sprung into action, arresting a suspect in nearby Folkestone just an hour after the attack. Mathew Chapman, 33, of Kent Road, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Chapman remanded to appear in court

The accused appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30 May. He was granted bail and is set to face Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 27 June.
