Lee Owen, 42, with no fixed address, was arrested and charged with conspiring to commit burglary. Police swooped on Friday 4 February after a months-long investigation.

Crime Squad Cracks String of Break-Ins

The Chief Constable’s Crime Squad cracked down on a series of daring burglaries between 9 November 2021 and 20 January 2022. Targets included shops, cafes, restaurants, and other businesses across Whitstable, Faversham, Herne Bay, Aylesham, and Ash. Thieves made off with cash and safes.

Court Dates and Co-Accused Update

Owen appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 5 February and was remanded in custody. His case will continue at Canterbury Crown Court on 7 March.

A 22-year-old man from Faversham, also arrested, has been released on bail until 23 February as investigations continue.
