When officers asked a 34-year-old woman to settle down, she ignored their pleas. Instead, she kept shouting and being abusive. Police moved to arrest her to stop a breach of the peace.

The drama escalated when the woman refused arrest and punched an officer in the eye.

Kylie Blackner Faces Charges for Assaulting Emergency Worker

Kylie Blackner, from Ashfield’s Road in Sutton-in-Ashfield, has been charged with common assault on an emergency worker. She was released on bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 6 September 2022.

Police Stand Firm Against Violence

“Police officers devote their time to protecting and helping our communities, and it is deeply troubling when an officer is injured in the line of duty,” said Nottinghamshire Police Sergeant Antony Coleman. “Fortunately, the officer is recovering well, and the force is concerned about her well-being.”

Nottinghamshire Police has warned that threatening or violent behaviour towards officers will not be tolerated. Anyone caught can expect to face prosecution.
