Drug Dealer Busted in Town After Mini Brings Him to a Halt
On Tuesday noon, January 4, 2022, Tunbridge Wells community cops spotted a suspicious Mini slow down and stop on Mount Ephraim. The driver, Sinan Kizil, had already caught their eye during a suspected drug deal.
Fake Story Unravels as Cocaine Found on Driver
Kizil lied, claiming it was his first time in town and he was hunting for a place to stay. But a quick search under the Misuse of Drugs Act revealed a bag full of cocaine deals in his pocket — plus a door card from a nearby hotel.
Hotel Room Raid Nets 58 More Bags of Coke
After arresting Kizil, officers raided his hotel room and discovered 58 bags of cocaine hidden in a sock inside a suitcase. The haul was worth a hefty estimated £2,280 on the streets.
The 31-year-old, from Napier Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Dealer Slapped with Prison Sentence
Kizil pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was handed a prison sentence of two years and six months on December 7.
Police investigator Amanda Lissenden of Maidstone CID said: “Kizil’s story about visiting Tunbridge Wells for the first time was immediately spotted as a lie by officers who had seen him in town days earlier.
“It was only a matter of time before our officers found the cocaine he tried hiding in his clothes and hotel room. Drug dealers quickly catch the eye of local patrols and are brought to justice.”
