Ben Freeman’s cocaine empire was busted after cops caught him with drugs hidden in his sock. The 37-year-old was caught red-handed during a traffic stop on April 21, 2022.
Cops Find Cocaine Stash During Traffic Stop
Police pulled over Freeman’s car and found a small wrap of cocaine tucked inside his sock. Told officers he was just holding bigger quantities of drugs for someone else at his Goods Station Road home.
£7,000 Cash and 120 Grams of Cocaine Found
After securing a search warrant, officers raided Freeman’s pad and uncovered £7,000 in cash alongside a hefty 120 grams of cocaine. The stash was proof he was running a drug operation right under their noses.
Freeman’s Damning Phone Evidence Ignored
During questioning, Freeman refused to explain his phone’s contents, which included a tick list of customers. He tried to downplay the seized cash, blaming £350 on his partner’s cake sales and £475 on selling cigarettes to coworkers.
Jail Time and Financial Probe
Freeman pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property. He was jailed for two years and four months at Maidstone Crown Court on February 23, 2023.
“Freeman was arrested thanks to excellent policing that stopped a serious drug supply in its tracks,” said Sergeant Ed Kavanagh. “Dealers like Freeman think they can get away with it, but we’ve shown they face a tough response and jail.”
Now Freeman faces a financial probe under the Proceeds of Crime Act to claw back any ill-gotten gains from his drug dealings.
