Bungling Burglars Nabbed After Luxury Car Theft Spree in Kent

Two burglars targeting posh motors in north Kent have been locked up. Between April 1 and May 17, 2023, a gang broke into seven homes in Dartford and Gravesend. Their loot? High-end BMWs and Mercedes parked outside. The crooks forced open front doors in the dead of night and swiped car keys, jewellery, phones, and tablets.

Essex Crooks Tracked and Jailed

Kent Crime Squad traced the criminals back to Essex. They identified Joshua Bragg, 22, of Bell Farm Avenue, Dagenham, and Aaron Martin, 20, of Triumph Close, as key suspects. Bragg was arrested on June 7, with Martin following a week later. Both pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court. On October 12, they each received three years and nine months behind bars.

Detective’s Warning to Would-Be Thieves

Detective Constable Dan Bister said: “The Kent Crime Squad is specially set up to tackle cross-border crime like this. These burglars broke into homes while people slept upstairs, thinking they could escape justice by fleeing the county. They seriously misjudged us. We tracked them down, gathered strong evidence, and now they’re behind bars.”

“Over the past five years, we’ve nailed countless gangs. Any burglars thinking of copying their game can expect swift and tough action from our team.”
